Community Guidelines

Last updated: 9 October 2026

Cohab is for finding someone to share a home with. It is not a dating app. These guidelines are part of our Terms, and they apply to profiles, listings, messages and calls.

1. Housing, not dating

Keep conversations about the home, living together and viewings. Flirting, sexual comments or asking someone out can get your account removed.

2. Be real

Use your own name and recent photos of yourself. Only list places you are entitled to offer, described as they really are, with real photos. One account per person, and you must be 18 or over.

3. Respect everyone

We have zero tolerance for harassment, threats, hate speech, sexual content and abuse. We remove content like this, and the accounts responsible for it.

Filters exist so that you can say who you would be comfortable sharing your own home with. They are never a licence to insult, demean or shut people out because of their race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or age — in messages or anywhere else.

4. Money and scams

Never ask for or send money before an in-person viewing and a written agreement. Requests for deposits, “holding fees” or transfers up front, fake listings, and attempts to get bank or identity details are scams, and we remove them.

5. Privacy — yours and theirs

Your exact address stays private until you decide to share it, so take your time.

Don’t share other people’s messages, photos or personal details, and don’t record a call without the other person’s permission. Screenshots aren’t blocked — no app can stop another phone photographing a screen — so treat anything you send as something you can’t take back.

6. Calls

Calls are for getting to know a possible flatmate or seeing a home. The same rules apply as in chat.

7. What “Verified” means

The Verified badge means the person confirmed that they control the email, Apple or Google account they signed in with. It doesn’t confirm who they are, so stay careful.

8. Reporting, and what happens next

Report anyone who breaks these guidelines, from their profile or from the chat — they are not told who reported them. You can also block them, which removes you from each other’s view straight away.

A person reviews every report, and we aim to do it within 24 hours. Depending on what happened, we may warn someone, remove content, restrict or suspend an account, or remove it permanently — at once for sexual harassment, threats, scams, or where someone may be in danger. Where someone may be at risk, we may contact the authorities.

If we act on your account, we will tell you, and you can ask us to look again by writing to support@cohab.gr.

If you are in immediate danger, call 112.
