Terms of Service

Last updated: 9 October 2026

These Terms are the agreement between you and Cohab, and they apply whenever you use the Cohab app. Cohab is operated by Vasileios Tsekenis, a sole trader based in Athens, Greece (“Cohab”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account you accept these Terms. If you don’t accept them, please don’t use Cohab.

1. What Cohab is

Cohab helps people find flatmates and shared homes. Some people are looking for a place; others have a room or a home to offer. You can discover people and homes, show interest, match, message and call.

Cohab is a meeting place, not a party to your arrangements. We are not an estate agent, letting agent, broker or landlord. We don’t own, inspect or manage any home, and we are not part of any agreement, viewing or payment between users. Anything you agree with another user is between the two of you.

2. Who can use Cohab

You must be at least 18 and able to enter into a binding contract. You may have one account, and it is for you alone.

You are responsible for making sure your use of Cohab is lawful where you live.

3. Your account

You can sign in with Apple, with Google or with an email address. Keep your sign-in secure — you are responsible for what happens under your account.

Give accurate information and keep it up to date. Don’t impersonate anyone, create an account for someone else, or open a new account to get around a block, suspension or removal.

4. What “Verified” means

A Verified badge means the person has confirmed that they control the email address, Apple account or Google account they signed in with. It is not an identity check: we don’t check documents, backgrounds or who anyone really is. Treat it as one signal among several, never as a guarantee.

5. If you offer a room or a home

By listing a room or a home you confirm that you are entitled to offer it — including, if you are subletting, any permission your lease or your landlord requires — and that your listing is accurate and complies with the law that applies to you.

Filters let people say who they would be comfortable sharing their own home with. They do not permit unlawful discrimination. Where equal-treatment law applies to you — for example when you let a property — you must comply with it.

6. Your content

You are responsible for what you post — your profile, photos, listing and messages (“your content”). You confirm that you have the right to share it and that it is accurate and lawful.

Your content stays yours. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, display and transmit it, only so that we can run Cohab. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account.

7. Rules of conduct

Our Community Guidelines are part of these Terms. In short, you must not:

  • post false, misleading or fake profiles or listings;
  • harass, threaten, demean or discriminate against anyone;
  • post sexual, hateful, violent or unlawful content, or use Cohab for dating;
  • ask for money, deposits or financial details outside a lawful written rental agreement, or attempt any kind of scam;
  • record calls, or share other people’s messages, photos or personal details, without their permission;
  • spam, advertise, or scrape or collect data about other users;
  • interfere with Cohab, reverse-engineer it, or try to gain unauthorised access to it.

We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behaviour. We remove it, and we remove the people responsible for it.

8. Reports, moderation and your rights

You can block anyone, and report a profile, a listing or a conversation, from inside the app. You can also write to support@cohab.gr to report anything you believe is illegal.

Every report is reviewed by a person — we don’t use automated systems to decide about content or accounts. Depending on what we find, we may remove content, limit what an account can do, suspend it, or remove it permanently. We may inform the authorities where the law requires it or where someone may be in danger.

If we act against your content or your account, we will tell you, unless the law or someone’s safety prevents it. If you think we got it wrong, write to support@cohab.gr within six months and a person will look at it again.

9. Cohab+

Cohab+ is an optional paid upgrade, sold as a monthly subscription or as a one-time lifetime purchase. What it includes is shown on the Cohab+ screen before you buy.

You buy Cohab+ through the Apple App Store or Google Play, which take the payment under their own terms. The price, including any tax, is shown in your currency before you confirm.

The monthly subscription renews automatically. Your store account is charged within the 24 hours before each renewal, unless you turn auto-renewal off at least 24 hours before the current period ends. You can do that at any time in your App Store or Google Play account settings. If you cancel, Cohab+ stays active until the end of the period you have paid for.

“Lifetime” means for as long as Cohab is offered and your account exists. It is a single payment and never renews.

Cohab+ belongs to the Cohab account you bought it with. Deleting your Cohab account does not cancel a store subscription — cancel it in your store settings as well. If you reinstall the app or change phone, use Restore purchases on the Cohab+ screen.

If Cohab+ ends, the Cohab+ settings you had switched on keep working, and you can always switch them off — but you can’t switch new ones on until you have Cohab+ again.

Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies, and you ask for them through the store. If you are a consumer in the EU, you may have the right to withdraw from a purchase within 14 days, which you also exercise through the store. Nothing here affects your statutory rights.

10. Your safety

We don’t run background or identity checks, and we can’t guarantee anyone’s identity, intentions or behaviour, or that a listing is accurate. Meet in a public place first, visit a home before paying anything, never send money before you have seen the place and signed a contract, and report anyone who makes you uncomfortable. The Safety Center in the app has more advice. If you are in immediate danger, call 112.

11. Changes to Cohab

We work to keep Cohab running and safe, but we can’t promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may change, add or remove features. If a change would significantly reduce what you have paid for in Cohab+, we will tell you in advance.

If we ever close Cohab, we will tell you in the app at least 30 days before.

12. Liability

Cohab is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for what other users say or do, for any agreement you make with another user, or for losses that are indirect or that we could not reasonably have foreseen.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, for gross negligence or intent — or your statutory rights as a consumer.

If you break these Terms or the law and this causes us loss or leads to a claim against us, you are responsible for it to the extent the law allows.

13. Ending your use of Cohab

You can delete your account at any time from the Account tab, under Settings → Delete account. What happens to your data is explained in the Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, if the law requires it, or to protect other users.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. If a change matters, we will tell you in the app at least 15 days before it takes effect, unless it is needed sooner for legal or safety reasons. If you don’t agree, you can delete your account before then; if you keep using Cohab after that, the new Terms apply.

15. Apple and Google

If you downloaded Cohab from the Apple App Store:

  • These Terms are between you and us, not Apple. We, not Apple, are responsible for Cohab and its content.
  • Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for Cohab.
  • If Cohab fails to meet an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any. To the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for Cohab.
  • We, not Apple, are responsible for any claims about Cohab — including product-liability claims, claims that it fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, consumer-protection claims, and claims that it infringes someone’s intellectual property.
  • You confirm that you are not in a country subject to a US government embargo or designated by the US government as “terrorist-supporting”, and that you are not on any US government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

If you downloaded Cohab from Google Play, Google Play’s terms of service also apply to your use of the store. In either case you must also follow the rules of the store you downloaded Cohab from.

16. Law and disputes

These Terms are governed by Greek law. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory law of the country where you live and may bring proceedings in its courts. Otherwise, the courts of Athens have jurisdiction.

If you have a complaint, please write to support@cohab.gr first — most things can be sorted out quickly. As a consumer you may also contact the Hellenic Consumer Ombudsman (www.synigoroskatanaloti.gr).

17. Contact

Cohab is operated by Vasileios Tsekenis, a sole trader based in Athens, Greece. Write to support@cohab.gr, in Greek or in English. This address is also our point of contact under the EU Digital Services Act, both for users and for authorities.

These Terms are available in Greek and in English, and both versions have equal standing.
